Monday morning back to work. I was pretty busy this weekend. I bought a new John Deere 540x a week ago and was very anxious to get out there and work it. I mowed and moved some stone with it on Saturday. I put up some BBQ signs for my Boy Scout BBQ next month. I also went and got some horse s__t for the garden. After that I rototilled it all into the ground.
I am glad to be back to work so I can rest...

Moving my trucks around so I can head to my ranch ,down south. Have to take pics of the 71 sport custom for insurance, and then take some scrap steel to salvage yard. I have to clean awd van for trip south, and hook up trailer . Mow grass 1 last time, and brrrrr it is only 50 degrees today. I have to take 71 in for alignment, and am putting murals on big 56 vanbody. It has been 15 yrs since I did any art work--so need a few frosties to steady my hands.--LOL

I got most of what I wanted to do done also. Now I just need to clean out the garage. Muffler came undone on the daily driver today so I'll have to do that first.....kinda hurries me up on cleaning out the garage. No rest.
this will be a big weekend for me. my f-1 has been off the road since 1984. we towed it to my brother in laws in dec 06 (24 miles from me). motor needed at least a sleeve and rebuild so we looked for a running flathead. amazingly enough we found an 53EAB that runs great for $500. working max 1 day per weekend, winter only, we put in EAB, wire harness, king pins, fixed ebrake, rebuilt carb, starter, got gen redone, etc. changed out orig wheels with 15" (215/75 front, 235/75 rear). i'll be driving it home (24 miles) this weekend. also my 99th post i think. things are looking good, much help from FTE. dick r.
Well, I got the passenger's side wheel cylinders replaced, and replaced the leaking seals in the carb. Unfortunately, I'm stuck waiting on an axle nut socket to finish putting the rear hub assembly back together, and the hard brake line up front twisted off. I meant to buy a new one tonight and bend it up, but had to work late.
The axle socket is supposed to be in tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have the truck rolling by the weekend.
Got everything done I planned - Nothing.
We has weather systems moving thru one after another.
Low Pressure, High Pressure,low pressure,highpressure.
Suck up the Drugs go to the bedroom and wimper.
And I did a dang good job of it.
me and dad finished stripping the 91 F-350 parts truck. We cleaned some on the yard. He took the remains of the 91 and some scrap steel, a motor, some radiators and aluminum wheels. Then he went and got me some parts for my 51. We changed the plugs, wires, points, condensor, rotary buttom, and distibutor cap and it still won't fire on the plugs. I guess that's what you get when you work on a truck with a chevy motor
This coming weekend I hope to pick-up a 390 and a flatbed that my Brother-in law has. These will be used on my 14 yr. old sons '60. If we don't have it ready by the time he get's his permit in Dec. my name will be mud.
I did manage to get a few things done on the truck;
I piddled around with the fuel injection stuff and managed to get some more components soldered into the circuit board on the MegaSquirt. I got rid of some stuff in one of the sheds (my buddy came by and picked up several boxes full of VW engine stuff)
Saturday night I took the truck out to cruise night.
On Sunday we had great weather. I went to the local car show. I ended up not entering the Falcon because I got lazy on Saturday an didn't get it washed and waxed.
All in all, it was a good weekend
Bobby
Hey Bobby, do you have the truck running with the EFI yet? Or are you still driving it with a carb? I was just curious as to how much more power and driveability it has? Have a cool frosty my man!! I'm very happy with my carb tuning and my new radiator. Looks like I can drive her to TN in June now. IF I can figure out which springs I need to put in the front suspension??
Terry,
I'm still running the carb....for now. I probably won't get the EFI installed until late summer/early fall. I'm going to try and get everything I need all together before I disable the truck.
Right now I have the port injection intake manifold stripped down and cleaned up. I'm in the process of cleaning up everything that bolts to it. I need to test and clean the injectors, accumulate all the late model sensors and adapt the late model TPS sensor to my throttle body, route a return line to the fuel tank, install a high pressure fuel pump, etc, etc, etc.
I have the MegaSquirt computer most of the way assembled. Hoepfully I'll get some time to finish installing components and soldering them up this weekend. I took tomorrow of so I have a 4 day weekend......wooohoooo!!!!
Out here in WA. state we went from 60* on wed. to 95* on sat., set the 351c into the "55" and bolted every thing in, hooked up the toyota power steering, some frosties, and started hanging fenders, then had a camp fire w/ more frosties on fri., sat was to darn hot but I atleast mowed the 2.5a that I have open, had a batch of friends over, grilled, sat next to the camp fire and had a batch of , sun. went over to a going away party for a friend that was moving ,, then the weather droped to 60* and rain for the week. This weekend I'm going finish hanging the fenders on the "55" and fire the old girl up........EVERY ONE HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND..........

I was going to install my Mallory ESpark electronic conversion into my dual point flathead distributor this weekend, but couldn't wait when I saw it in the mailbox yesterday and stayed up late last night doing that. Just need to plug in the wires now and fire up. I do hope to have some new jets for my carb by the weekend, would like to get the carb tuned a little better and quit running so rich.

Hey Scott, there are some great carb guru's on here!! (I'm NOT one of them) but Ed (Imlowr2) and RJ are 2 of them. Of course you might be one too??? Nothing like having your baby running RIGHT!!
Yeah I was watching one of the other threads on rejetting the carb. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, just now getting to it. I have a 390 Holley on my flattie, and it's been running rich since installed no matter what amount of tuning I do. I took the old jets out and went to a local parts store and found out the jets I've been running are "bogus" according to the parts guy. The numbers stamped on them was something like "5T" and an upside down "2". Didn't match anything he had on Holley parts, but his store is also a machine shop so he broke out a drill bit set with the smallest bits I've seen, and found what size the jets actually were. Only problem is he had to order the new ones and they're still not in yet. Maybe later today. For what it's worth, I got the truck fired up after the electronic ignition conversion...nice and smooth idle and revs nice. Pretty easy conversion and I thought was fairly inexpensive at $54.
