took place last Wednesday 'bout 9:30PM. This was the first of two storms to hit the Round Rock area. I had 4 feet of my trucks butt sticking out. Luckily no real damage was done but damn. Hail storm lasted 15 minutes before the rain and winds came.
I've got golfball size hail in my fridge. Kids wanted to keep it. Some people reported baseball size.
Not so much. I'll know better when I wash it but it looks like the fiberglass tonneue
cover held up. I put a rug over what was exposed but found that half of it was blown over to one side after it was all over with.
I made a similar post a few weeks back.. $1400 worth of damage to my rig. That's IF they can do paintless dent repair on it. He said they won't know for sure until they get it under the ultra violet lights because some of the dents on the roof are right above some supports or something like that.
We hit a hail storm driving through Idaho when my dad's '03 was about 2 years old. Slowed down to about 40mpg so they wouldn't hit the windshield as hard. We were both cringing because the 3/8"-1/2" hail was deafening us inside the cab. Lasted for about 5 minutes, we both thought the truck was going to be totaled. Got out afterwards and all I could find for damage was a few light dimples along the leading edge of the roof about 6-8" behind the top of the windshield. Even those were so light I had to wash the truck and feel them again to convince myself they were there, couldn't see them. I guess that's why they use high strength steel now for body panels...
Just visted with my neighbor. He has a 07 Dodge regular cab and a 06 altima. Counted 43on the dodge and about 20 on the altima. I help them cover the car up before the storm but the winds blew off the blankets we put on it.
I wouldn't touch the dodge.
I had some moving blankets at one time, now those were the best. Thick and BIG.
