gettin started

Over the last week.. I replaced my exhaust gaskets,,engine started fine afterwards...so then I took off my intake manifolds and painted, etc. Here's where I made my mistake perhaps, I adjusted (haha) lifters somewhat...when i started it sounded like someone had a hammer tapping, so i readjusted back to where it was, I don't know if i bumped my distributor,,but it wouldn't fire, drained my battery, . I had someone try to start it as i turned the distributor, it finally started this morning (with a different battery)but, i could get very little gas to the carb.

is the timing not set right?

How do I adjust?

Should i have someone start it while i try to set it by hand?

I need to take the manifold back off because I should've replaced the crankcase gasket (its leaking antifreeze from the back!! Am I making sense?

I atleast want to get it started and running again before I pull that intake off again.

HELP ME PLEASE ,,, I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!! HER NAME IS "BIG MAMA"
