You might be able to use Helicoils:

This may be a stupid question but were you using any cutting oil while you were tapping? I've been a machinist for about 8 years and that makes a big difference. Turning the tap back a 1/2 turn every 1 or 2 turns will help brake the chip off and keep the tap from breaking. If it's beyond repair, you can use a heli-coil kit to get your threads back to what you need them to be. I don't know what the size or pitch of the bolts are but they normally run about $40 - $60 for the kit. I hope that helped some. Good luck with it.
