I noticed I had a left rear brake light out the other day. Well evrything looks good far as the bulb goes and is getting a good ground. Then when I turn on the blinker for the right side then my left side will light up too. every thing works ecexpt the brake light part. with out brake pressure appplied turn signals work and tail lights, marker lights too all work fine. Then when I turned the blinkers off I had no brake lights on either side fliped the turn signal switch a few times back and forth and had brake lights again. Okay now for my question, will my turn signal switch in my steering column cause this or is there another issue. also my blinkers wont blink never has really think needs a new relay.
Yeah I only got 5 fuses I think its a 73 f250 4x4. I might just replace them all in the process of restoring it but I need it for a hauler in between you know.
Everything connected to your brake lights goes through the turn signal switch. Thats why the turn signal still works when the brakes are applied. Sounds like to me that could be your problem.
yeah when I first started to drive it after it was drug out of a pasture and put it some what back togather the turn switch was really hard to flip back and forth.
Well you could clean the ground up clip another wire on it and run it to the front and grond it to the battery ground cable and that would tell you if it is a ground issue. Or check the resistance using multimetter.
