According to the relevant wiring diagrams for the '88-'91 2.3L Ranger from Charles Probst's "Ford Fuel Injection and Electronic Engine Control 1988-1993", only the California models use an MAF-based system. The '88-'91 2.3L in the other 49 states are MAP-based systems.

not that I know of. I bought this truck 3 weeks ago and have been trying to get it running well enough to pass inspection. I have changed plugs,cap, wires, fuel filter, drrained gas tank and replaced the fuel pump, also set the timing.and still doesn't run right. it has very little power and spits and sputters. I am at a loss.
