Do it yourself Water/Alcohol Injection!!!!

Check this website out, I have been thinking about doing this to my truck.

The person that made this really seemed to do a good job getting a parts list and making instructions. I want to hear what everyone has to say about Water/Alcohol injection on these trucks!

I figured this system would cost me around $260.00 to make, is it worth it?
Is this safe for these trucks with Powdered meatal rods?
Why hasn't everyone done this to their trucks for only $260 why not?

Let me know what y'all think.

I didnt look at the link... But you can get a real kit, tested and made for this, rather then pieced together for $366 Click here

Been running water injection for over 120,000 miles... Love it!

Is this what you have on your truck?
What difference have you noticed?

I have a cooling mist kit, not that one but one similar.

When running water Pulling 10-14k on my race setting I cant push over 1000 over about any pass. If in the mounitans I can pull 70mph at 1200 EGT all day long. as you add meth the cooling effect goes away but the power comes on... All cooling is gone at about 40% meth.

looking at the videos I see little drops of water. I'm worried about that going into my engine, won't that hurt it?

How big is your tank and how long does it last you?

What kind of MPG are you getting with this mist setup.
How hard is to find the methane and about what is the cost of methane?

You can use the winter stuff due to it's alcohol content, for more HP. Plain water for cooling.

You have no "droplets of water" its a very fine spray. I have an 8 gallon tank that lasts about 400 miles if I switch it on and off a bit. About 300 if I just leave it on.

It cleans the motor

Milage??? LOL

There is really no gain with water injection. Some claim 1-2... but its doubtful. Methonal you can get from any fuel shop, about $60 for 5 gallons. Most of the time I run just water, races and events I go 40% meth.

METHONAL ONLY!!! NOTHING... and I mean NOTHING else. People who mix there own rocket fuel deserve what they get.

That works, its hard to nail down the exact concentration but most are in the 10-20% range. Works great in the winter to keep things from Freezing.

You mentioned it cleaned the engine. All the soaps and degreasers in washer fluid... Gotta be nice for cleaning those valves and rings!

And I agree with you to a point... This is why the only time I run washer fluid is when freezing conditons exsist.

BUT the only thing that suffers from the WWF is the injectors them selfs. Any soap and such gets burned the second it hits the compression stroke.

Water injection cleans the motor, due to steam... Keeps the piston tops clean of any carbon build up.

I like the idea of this, but my problem is where to mount the tank- my dang short bed is too small as-is.

Many guys make a tank out of PCV (6-8") and a few caps and mount it on the outside frame rails...
