waste gate issue
Hey guys I'm looking for threads on proper working waste gate, I think that mine is buggard i thried to move it in and out and could not move it? so i was thinking bout doing ccv mod today and started looking at things ...I have the green line coming out of the air intake to the turbo which i belive provides the vaccum for the red line that works the waste gate anyhow i realy don't know poo about them so if you have any good threads or links i could read that would be great thx ahead of time

I've done alot of mods like you have, my waste gate was flopping in the wind. I bought a BD waste gate actuator, seems to handle all the mods now. Banks also makes the Big mouth waste gate actuator but of course it costs more.

Wastegate is controlled with boost from the red line (not vacuum). there is a spring that holds is shut and is difficult to move by hand. green line is the return.
Unplug the red line from the actuator and push it on the clamp stud. drive and check boost and SOTP performance. If no change then something is wrong. boost should increase without wastegate control.
You can tighten the rod end (shorten the rod) to increase the spring preload, which will hold more boost. Do a search and you will find the procedure.
buy a new clip 'cause you have a 99% chance to loose it.
