Truck Dies While Driving! Help!!!
Brand new here, heard of this place today and already starting to like it. Anyways, I have an 03 F350 Dually with the 6.0 in it. 2 days ago my check engine light came on and all hell broke loose! Tried to start the truck and took a lot longer than usual, with a rough idle for about 10 min. Then as I was cruising at about 45, rpm's went out of control. Rpm's would jump when I let off, then it would drop when I got on it. Finally today, I tried driving it to a local Ford dealership, got down the street. Took an easy right turn... engine just died, no rpm jumps or drops. Just died like I turned the key off. It kept dying so I finally turned around and came home. Any ideas??? Thought it might have been the glow plugs when the starting problem occurred. Now I have no clue! Sorry about my "life story" as a topic, just needing all the help I can get.

It's possibly some electrical component related to the pedal. And good luck finding the solution to your ghost acceleration. Ford could never find what was causing it on mine. They bought back my '04 for the same issues.

How old is your icp sensor?Do a search on ICP and then see if you can have a look at the pig tail,they have been known to cause symptoms you have had. Checking the codes will get you in the right direction.
