I'm wanting to get a little more sound out of my 05 6.0, I have the 4'' banks Stainless exhaust. question is if I remove the cat is there any sensor I need to rig up to the pipe in its place?....I know I do need to get under it and simply look for myself, but I know you guys like to help and I have not had this truck very long and the entire time been working seven days a week 14-16 hours a day.but on a good note I have started stocking up on alot of parts waiting for me to get off of work.
I also have an 05 6.0. i installed a turbo back 4 inch exahast and there are no sensors on the stock exhast system. To tell you the truth removing the cat did not change the exahast tone very much. there is a diffrent tone when the truck utilizes the edge computer in the higher levels with the pedel to the floor but not much change if your just cruising around. If you want to increase the pipe tone try it with a different muffler or perhaps, sraight pipe. Have fun.
Well it does sound a little better than stock with the Bank's. When really getting down on it, it sounds good but to my taste I think it should make a little more noise all the time.
Remove the muffler..install muff delete pipe....you'll like it!
The muffler or Cat? I bought the truck with the Banks exhaust and would like to keep the stainless, and its from the cat back. Is there a cat delete pipe?
I have the Banks turbo back exhaust with a cat delete pipe and it sounds awsome. I just used a Banks extension pipe for a longbed truck to replace my cat.
You should be able to find a cat delete pipe from one of the exhaust companies that will go from the stock downpipe to a 4" exhaust. It doesn't have to be from Banks.
