Been here for a little bit but I'm just now getting up pics of my trucks. I made a gallery today and tried to show the 56 and its work to done as much as possible. I forgot to mention that the bed is toast so I'll probably have to get one of those complete kits. The 55 is complete and will start and drive, except for a leaking master cylinder, but I have it too burried to get it out to take pics. Making a gallery was easier thanI thought, thanks to that sticky.
Good lookin photos Ward!! Looks like you have a great start with the '56! Awesome work on the paint too. I've seen some of your work before, and I have to say youre a very talented painter!! Looks like you have plenty of help too My daughter wants you to send me some pics of your little girl
Great looking project! Thats a classic pic of your "helper" behind the wheel (or lack thereof).
My son and I spent alot of time "cruising" in my truck long before it was able to run. We'd sit there in the cab and go all over without ever leaving the garage
Thank you all. That is my youngest(Alex) in the truck there, he is a good helper and hardly ever complains. The 2 older ones are too interested in playing. We adopted him from Russia a little over 2 yrs ago, he is deaf but he doesn't know he is any different and he is very smart. He can watch you do something one time, maybe ask for help once and take off with it.
Terry I will send pics fri so you all can see Yana. Also, I just went through your gallery and saw the 56 interior that you did, is that the truck that just left? You need to go back and put in some descriptions because enquiring minds want to know. I like that leather wrapped dash, it all looks real good.
Hey Ward, I'm goin to get my wife to post some pics of the interior. Theres alot more pics that arent on yet. And yes I do need to take time to edit the pics and give a description of each. Lookin forward to seein your daughter. Hows the language barrier goin with her?
Cool Gallery! Those rocker panels are the good ones (IMHO), and will make floor replacement alot easier because of the thicker material you have to work with..Good Score!!,,Good Luck, and keep us posted!
Looking good, Ward, it looks like you have left no bolt/nut unturned. That's the only way to avoid problems down the road. I like your helper. too. It's good to have pic of the kids at different times of the build, especially to show them later. " Found this truck while I was walking 5 miles to school, in the snow. uphill , both ways." Our kids love those stories. My daughter is a deaf ed. teacher at county schools, loves her work. If you get with her while she is "talking" with students she makes me feel lilke I have a problem and do--I can't converse with them.
Great truck,best of luck
Mike
