The last couple time i have driven my F250 the trans. temp gauge is all over, it goes from 130 to 280 and back to 160 and then stay at one place and then goes crazy again, and its never the same. is this a bad gauge, loose wire or what. i really hope it the gauge and not my trans. going. The truck only has 26,000 on it. I know i need to flush my trans. soon but i don't know why its doing this. My truck has sat alot the last month but i make sure I get it out about once a week and run her hard after i get everything up to temp. Any words of wisdom is very helpful

My vote on symptoms like those is a loose wire... It's a reference voltage reading, so a flaky connection will have it doing cartwheels. My H2O wire does the same thing, and I know it's a connection issue.
