I am looking at getting a set of the Pro Comp Xtreme Ats in a 315/75/16 for my truck. I was wondering if anybody was running them and could give their opinion of them. My main concern is if they are gonna wear out like the Nitto Terra Crapplers that I have now. With the mileage I got out of these tires I would have been netter off with a set of mud tires!
I dont know if you are dead set on these, but i would recommend the Toyo AT Open Countries. I had them in 37x14.5's a year or more ago, and they were silent. Wore good for the few thousand i had them. All the guys i know of around here love their tires. If Procomps tires are anything like the ride quality of their suspension, i'd go somewhere else with my hard-earned $$.
I had been looking at them because of the 40k tread life warranty. Like I said I'm wanting more life out of the tires! I've gotten more miles out of mud tires that I've had on other vehicles. I've only gotten around 20k out of the nitto's. For a so called all terrian, that sucks!
I tell ya, I have been researching tires for quite a while now because I am in need of a set myself. I have read thread after thread and all kinds of reviews and I am just as confused today as I was a few months ago. For every rave I read about a tire there is a rant to go with it. Sorry about the hijack. Just saying I feel for ya and good luck in your choice.
I have been running the pro comp 315 extreme all terrains for two years got about 35000 on them now and they are at 50 percent tread. They are a directional tire and the key is rotation. They are noisy almost like a mud terrain but they were great in the snow the last to winters. My buddy got almost 70.000 out of a set of the all terrains. I wont buy anything else.
I've had 3 sets of Pro Comps, 2 A/Ts and 1 Xtreme A/Ts. They were all good tires, On the Xtreme A/Ts I had about 38k on them when I swapped them out, but I never wear tires all the way down. Once the tread has about 5k left I usually swap them out. Right now I have BFGs, there are alot of good tires out there, "not just one brand", it all comes down to what you use them for, and of course how much you want to spend is usually the biggest deciding factor. There are four name brands of tires that come out of the same factory: Mickey Thompsons, Pro Comps, Dick Cepeks and Coopers.
I know what you going through. I need tires bad and the ones i want are out of budget but i might have to pull the trigger on these, BS REVOS A/T. Great wearing tire almost 70,000 on them, great in snow, mud, dirt. Good luck on your quest.
i had them and maybe got 30,000 out of them, i recommend dick cepek fc-II's or nitto terra grapplers
Dick Cepek's are made out of the same rubber compound and come out of the same factory, maybe your 140 tune helped with early wear out. I could have pushed mine to 45k easily.
Bruce, maybe you missed my second post(#3) but I wouldnt put a set of Nittos on my wheel barrel! Ha Ha! I am glad to see that you have 315's with a leveling kit cause thats what I'm trying to do. I'd stay with a 305 but I want to get the Pro comps in a 16 and the 315 is the smallest they have. Do you have much rubbing with the 315's?
I have a set of 315/75/16 Goodyear Mt/r's under my truck and they only rub on the inner wheel well at full turn. It just depends on what springs they decided 2 put under your truck on that particular day it seems some people have problems and others dont

i didn't have the dp at the time and they might be made out of the same rubber but the fc-II's a hell of alot deeper thread.
