I've always liked JC whitney for parts, but can anyone give me an opinion on these:

I just installed a set of those, did the 3 pod thing on my A post, EGT, Boost and tranny temp, had to do some trimming of the pod to fit my A post as it's a generic kit but using a razor knife and a straight edge and taking my time it was actually pretty easy.. Will have to get some pics and post em later... Day after I installed em I did a 1900 mile trip to WV and back to Wisc. They are awesome!!!!!

Slick!!

As I briefly read about the EGT gauge it sounds like it is a POST turbo prob that is to be welded in and you do not want post turbo, low *** readings. JMHO

I installed mine right into the drivers side exhaust manifold just like the directions said, drilling was quite easy with a good set of bit's. Throttle response on the gauge is very fast and seems very accurate as I used an IR lazer probe on it to see how accurate it was and they were pretty close (within 25 degrees). The tranny probe was a piece of cake as my tranny has an open port to install it into and worked quite well, as for the turbo, I installed a T into the controller on the fire wall on the passenger side of the motor. These gauges come with lights, I was gonna install them onto the head light switch so I could dim them but instead wired then onto the ignition switch so they come on with the key (I can always switch it). Oh, be ready for a major blind spot to occur where your A post is as this pod kinda sticks right into your face, took me a few hours on the road to get used to it but now it's just part of my mementary sweep as I look at all my gauges every so often. It's really helped with getting my mileage to increase as I have been told that keeping my EGT under 6 and R's under 2k is a big +. So far I'm getting 18 avg with 4.10 gears so I'm very happy!!

Slick!!

shop vac and small magnet. Also use several bits progressing to the size required that way the shavings are not too big.

also, when i helped my FIL install his, he drilled until he was almost through, then vacuumed, then coated his drill bit in grease and continued to drill. that got almost all of them. then shop vac and magnet.

remember that it's the exhaust your drilling into, not the intake, so shavings are not that big of a deal as they just go right on thru and out the exhaust. your exhaust manifold has a lot of rust that it's letting loose on the inside but like the others I tried to keep the chunks to a minimum.. Oh and yes my directions stated put the egt probe in the drivers side exhaust manifold.

Slick!!

Crank the rig and have it running to finish drilling the hole. Sends whatever gets missed out the tailpipe.

Duh, I never even thought about that, your right. Anyone ever had exhaust side turbo damage?
