Ground strap locations

If your question is more for good electrical operation and dependability, then the answer is that all assemblies that are rubber mounted should be connected to the chassis by a good ground connection (called binding). That would be the engine, cab, and bed. The commonly used method of binding is a flat braided lead coated copper strap bolted to a cleaned spot on the assembly and the chassis, leaving a little slack for movement. The typical placement is between the engine and firewall at the rear of the engine or near the starter where it might go to firewall or to the frame whichever is closer. The cab would typically be bound between a point near the bottom of the firewall and the frame. The bed would be bound underneath between the bed and the frame. Be sure the ground cable from the battery is connected to the frame. I like to use toothed washers on both sides of the straps to assure an electrically sound connection.
The grounding straps are available in a number of lengths at any good auto parts store.
