1. what would cause my back up lights to not work, after checking fuses and bulbs(ok)?
2. if i want to make up for the heavy pre-runner bumper i currently have installed, should i go with a set of HD springs,or do they make spacers like on my jeep?
F-350 coils would probably be your best and cheapest route. Make sure you have it aligned after the swap. For the lights, you should have a plug on the trans. for them. It may have come unplugged or got gunk in it. On my C-6, it is the only electrical but you will have more with a newer rig and trans. Take a look at the connections and see if they have power when moving the shift lever. Unfortunately, I am not sure which connection it is down there but it should be on the side by the shift linkage.
You can check fuse #5, (15 amp), your park/nuetral position switch, or trace the black/pink wire back from the lights to the switch.
The PNP switch is located right above the shift linkage, drivers side, goes straight down in if it's a AOD, on an E4OD it's called a Manual Lever position Sensor, and it is mounted on the manual lever shaft..on a C6 it is called a Nuetral Safety/Backup Light Switch, and is also on the manual lever shaft.
The E4OD and the AOD have specific adjustments, and if I remember right, the AOD requires a 3 prong tool to align it.
All that said, check the sockets for the bulbs for power first..use a test light. THEN check the fuse, THEN check for power at the switch, THEN check power out of the switch AT the switch.
