Gone but not forgotten.
My '53 F100.
Drug him out of a cornfield near Millstadt Ill. in spring of '70. Dropped in a '57 341" Desoto hemi w/torqueflite. Built my own motor and transmission mounts. Painted him '69 Pontiac Castillion Bronze (wanted something different). Transmission cooler was an AC condenser. Built a short box out of square tubing to hold the trans push button assembly. Used early '50s Chrysler station wagon 15" wheels.
Around 1984 I replaced the Desoto with a '70 Dodge 318 w/torqueflite. Had to dig up a column shift setup like the one I ditched in '70. My original block mounts bolted right on. Minor mod to trans crossmember and another custom built drive shaft and we were good to go. Lost a lot of weight on the front end.
Sold it twice and bought it back during that time. Third time I sold it was the charm. Now in the St. Joseph Mo. area.
Hope he is still on the road but he was getting really rusty.
