cutting out on decel.
my dads 84 (86 engine though) has a new thing going on when you let off the gas it cuts in and out, very strange problem. anybody encounter this before?

Yep. Rev anywhere above 1500 RPM and let off the pedal kills it, right?
Thats what mine had at least. I put a liter if ATF (dex3) in the tank and after a couple hours of driving the problem was gone. That was several months ago and I haven't had problem since. You can also use a diesel additive like diesel kleen, and that should also do the trick.
