Ive seen guys selling NOS FORD parts that are in black primer as well as NOS Ford parts in a burnt orange color.
Is one more valuable than another?

the rusty red color is original sheetmetal produced until sometime in the late 60s, I think 1968 but dont quote me on that. I know for a fact original 65-66 mustang parts that were built in 65-66 are red primer. The black primer was introduced after the red primer probably for cost reasons.
Just because the primer is black for a 66 mustang door doesnt mean its not NOS it just means it was a replacement part built after Ford discontinued the red primer.
100% Concours 65-66 Mustangs will ideally want red primer replacement sheetmetal but otherwise its meaningless. Can you tell what color base primer was used? I cant.
Well I have a set (pair) of NOS 55-57 Ford Thunderbird inner fenders. They are orange in color. with no evidence of ever being installed. So from a resale point I can list them as Concours correct, as well as NOS.
I have seen different color primers for years but never really knew what the difference was. I allways assumed that black primer was the only thing used, and that the orange primer was an attempt to pretty up a part on the sellers end.
Any suggestions on where to try selling them??
