when i first got my truck in oct 2000 i had them undercoat it with a "clear sticky, honey like undercoat. what kind of undercoat would you all recommend that I could apply. back in 2000 i paid them 250 to do it. not only do i what to do it for rust but for sound too. im finally replacing my gibson muffler with another one. right now the exhaust is exiting underneath me and its loud as pointed out by my girlfriend. i just got use to the sound. i heard the undercoating helps with that too. thanks for any advice.
by the way, how much is the aftermarket places charging for that?
Sometimes undercoating causes more trouble than it prevents. It all depends on the installer. I know the consumer magazines don't recomend it anymore.
The salt and moisture gets behind it and stays there. Also plugs up the drain holes. I'm sure you will be getting more opinions. There is another thread on here discussing door rust. Check it out. When the rust starts very difficult to stop. Hope you get the info your looking for.
