reserve tire placement
I have a 1955 F-100 with a 351W,Mustang shorty headers and dual exhaust pipes. Will the original spare tire fixture under the bed still work?? I don't have any pictures so I don't know how it works. There's one on Ebay now , but I don't want to buy it if it doesn't fit. Erik

Depends entirely on where they ran the dual exhausts. If there was no spare hanging under there when they ran the pipes, they probably go right through where the spare belongs.
You'll have to roll under there and estimate if there's enough room for a spare - if I'm not mistaken the spare carrier centers the wheel between the frame rails, but I'm not sure of the front to rear placement in a 55. If you can identify the mounting holes (one in each frame rail) you can figure where the center will be and estimate from there.
