I just want to give a public thank-you to Kwikkordead (Mr. Dan). For those who know F250_ (Pete), I am his son. I am getting ready to buy a diesel Volkswagon for a fuel-efficient college commuter, and Mr. Dan, who is a VW/Audi mechanic has given my dad a whole lot of really helpful advise to pass on to me about good and bad years, models, and engines for the VW's. He has also given me some tips on common mods (we couldn't just leave a car stock). He has been a wealth of knowledge to me and my dad, and I am extremely grateful to him. Mr. Dan is the type of guy that gives FTE a good name.
Thanks Mr. Dan!
Awesome, i kinda knew it was you, his son, when i saw your name. "i wonder if..." and sure enough it is. Now you got your new name here, i expect you to be learning, and posting, and helping everyone out! Welcome to FTE and thanks for finally joining. I wish i could meet Dan, he plays one helluva guy on the internet!
Benjamin, Dan is one of the best guys on this site. I was sorry to see him go as a moderator, but happy he is still here. A treasure trove of knowledge and experience.
I am also glad you did not go with the "newbie" extension. I gave your father the biz about that and he corrected it in short order. Actually, he was lucky because FTE rarely lets you change a user name.
I havn't been here that long but he seems like a father figure here. If he don't know the answer(very rare) he won't tell yaa. Welcome benjamin to FTE.
Dan has helped me numerous times, there should be some kind of FTE award for people like him. Welcome aboard Benjamin, good luck with the new college plans and give your Dad a hand with all those Filter Sleeve orders!
Thanks for the enthusiastic welcome, guys. It's great to finally be a part of this site after reading on it for so long. Again, thanks to Mr. Dan, too. You are all right, he really is a great guy.
Well, I've already posted my gratitude to Dan by way of PM, but here's my official "Welcome to the site", son!
Thanks, guys, for the warm welcome for Benjamin. Though he won't be pursuing PSD ownership in the short term, he's at least already hooked on diesel enough to be trying to get himself a TDI. There's something contagious about the fumes and smoke!!
Welcome Ben, feels like I already know you as your dad has mentioned you to me before. Good luck in school and get ready for your first PSD. And good job on thanking Dan for his help. He is the man. Pete, it's good to see you online as well.
