I have a '96 5.0 Explorer currently with the GT40 "P" heads/headers on them. I'm currently ordering a 347 Stroker engine from Coast High Performance [http://www.coasthigh.com]. My problem is that I'd like to buy aftermarket heads, Trick Flow or Edelbrock, but I was told I'd have to replace the headers and possibly the exhaust/catalytic converter. If this is the case, will any shorty 302 headers work with the new heads or will I have to find specific headers to work with my current aftermarket exhaust?
If the GT40 heads have the same exhaust bolt pattern as the regular head, then the GT40 headers will bolt up to the Edelbrock heads. I am not sure but I would think the Twisted Flow heads use the same pattern as well.

i'm interested in making 81 f150 with a 55,000KM(approx 40,000) miles 302 into a 347. does any work need to be done to the bottom end like clearancing the rods or anything. all i need will be a crank and pistons. is there a website that will tell me all i need to know about this combo. also what are the best factory ford heads to use. i doubt my 81 castings flow that well
