New to site but am somewhat of a forum junkie on other sites. I have a 1993 F150 4.9 5 speed. It's actually not primer red but rattle can engine paint red. I touched up a couple of bare spots with it and liked the way it looked so I painted the whole truck that way. Here are a couple of pics.
No real future plans for the truck other than using it to haul parts for my 1963 Chevy II. I am looking for some decent 15 inch wheels on the cheap.
Well thanks for the kind words about the truck. I've done some real painting before so I guess it all comes down to technique when you do these things. Plus the original color of the truck was close to this color and that helps hide a lot of the errors. Here's a tip I always use, if you are shooting lighter colors use a slightly darker primer so you can see if you have complete coverage and vice versa with the darker colors use a lighter primer. I'm no automotive paint expert but I did some aircraft painting in the Navy. Oh yeah flat paint is a lot more forgiving than the gloss in my opinion.
