You can use them, if you use both the support and inners, but I don't think you can mix/match them. Seems I've seen other guys switch them over as the newer pieces are galvanized and will survive better.

I read somewhere that you can add a few bolt holes to use the 67-72 inners.
I piece mailed a 75 onto my 72. I took one of the mounting brackets (frame mount) off the 75 to replace the rusted out bracket on the 72. Not an exact match but it worked. Mount hole in the same place but now the left and right side mounts look slightly different.
