I just have a bug up my butt about how much people THINK they are protected by the light-weight off-the-shelf firewalls. Even though I use them myself

And don't get me started on anti-virus software, software firewalls, or all the rest of the crud. Just slows me down And next time someone changes one byte of their code, the virus gets right on through.

Yup, the funny thing is that half of the time their firewall isn't even turned on.

I am a huge believer in smart browsing. I run the anti-virus software that the school gave me but I have never had a virus flagged or had a problem with spyware because I don't randomly click pop up windows that tell me to click them. A little common sense and knowledge goes a long way to preventing problems.

Have you ever heard of smoothwall?
