Head casting numbers

Where do I find the casting numbers on a Windsor head and what information will the number contain other than year?

Head casting numbers

Depending on the year, check between the head bolts under the exhuast manifold.

Head casting numbers

I looked there on my 87 302 heads but there weren't any numbers there at all. There are some numbers under the valve cover by the pushrods but nothing resembling a part number. Where else should I look?

Head casting numbers

Ok, after closer inspection I found the number on the underside of one of the intake ports. It has P/N E7TE-PA.
