we've got one for alvaton and i frickin love it! my ONLY complaint is it feels gutless. with that said i have only had to use the winch a couple of times. been up and down the creek several times and use it to haul feed all around the property.
i would test drive some of the other brands first though before i bought another
The KQ700 is a nice quad; several of my friends have them. Make sure the dealer sets up the battery properly or it will drain when sitting, a known KQ/dealer issue and part of a recall notice that also involves the older computers. I can send you the particulars if you decide on a KQ.
The 2008 KQ's are 750's... so you can either go for one of those, or get a deal on a 700 if they're still around.
The KQ's hesitation on start is controlled by the computer... Suzuki's attempt at reducing injuries/lawsuits apparently. You can purchase a VDI box which is programmable and does away with the hesitation and other limiters. We installed one on a friend's KQ700 and he loves it. Also he no longer has to press the reverse limiter bypass button.
If you search the ATV forums you can find a lot of info on why people LIKE their quads, heavily biased of course... I started a thread on what people DON'T like about their quads, which you might find useful. Quads.ca :: View topic - Things you DON'T like about your quad
Btw, you guys will probably like the "whoops" photo galleries on that site.
(Yes, it's my site, not hiding that fact)
I have a 2003 Honda Rincon 650 and a 2008 Can-Am Outlander 650XT; if you have any questions about either of those quads I can try to answer them.
