I know this is a truck chat, but don't most truckys own ATV's of some kind? Well, i just thought maybe I could start a topic of our favorite ATV's, as well as our best/worst riding experience. I have a 99' Honda Fourtrax 4x4. It's great. I've never had any problems with it, and i've even had to pull a few Polaris's and Yamaha's out of the woods. I just recently put a winch on her, but with Minnesota winter havn't had a chance to use it. Lets hear from some more peeps on their wheelers!
hey,
nice to meet a fellow ATV rider. me and my friend jerad do quite a bit of trail riding and stuff around here, especially goin after coyotes, thats alot of fun. i ride a 1997 polaris X-plorer 500, the 500 CC engine is awesome, have you ridden the new 650's? i think there is a 700 too isnt there? as for trail experiences, tried to go through a frozen snow bank and ended up with all 4 wheels off the ground on acxcount of the thing was a huge pile of ice! haha, felt stupid but didint have a whole lot of trouble getting it off the pile. tipped it once riding in the county gravel pit out by our place, and have broken every single finger and toe at least once

my bike is in my gallery, check it out sometime.
hey fellow ATV people. You have some nice 4-wheelers, but I think i'm coming from a different line on this one. I have a 1994 Yamaha Blaster 200cc two-stroke. It has nerf bars, FMF header and exhaust, skis for the front tires for snow, and some "Realtor" mudd/snow tires. Its a beast for me. But when it comes to hunting or other stuff...you won't get within 2 miles of a deer. But it sure can get through the snow! As far as expierences...I'm not sure if I have a favorite...but we live on a farm so I mud quite a bit!
I don't have one yet, but I sure would like to have the Polaris 700 4x4. That thing is POWERFUL!!!! On a more realistic scale, I would like to get myself a Polaris Magnum 325 or a Honda 4trax with the Traxlock on it.
Greetings fellow ATVers. If it weren't for my ATV I never would've had an off-road truck. We've been taking the ATVs to this off-roading campground for a few years. Last year we invited my cousin out with his big 4x4 truck. He gave me a ride and I was hooked.
My ATV is a 1988 Yahama TerraPro. It's a 300cc utility machine with PTO and a 48" Yahama mower deck. Although it's not a race machine, it made it through deeper mud than my brother's Warrior.
Here's a pic of my niece on it before I bought it. It's much muddier now.
Last year my dad finally bought an ATV, so I rode his, which is a Yamaha 660r Raptor. As of this past December, I have been riding my own, a Bombardier Baja DS650, the biggest most powerful sport ATV on the market. I love it, and have had many good experiences with it so far. I mostly ride in the sand at Sand Lake, on the Oregon coast. I also have a week long trip planned to go riding in the N. Bend, Coos Bay area of the Oregon coast. I can't wait, I've heard nothing but good things about those dunes. Favorite things to do on it are racing flat out, and up the bowls. I go with a guy who also has DS650, but he has a Stage 1 race kit on his bike, I still beat him with my completely stock bike. Sorry for being so long.......
I have a 1994 Suzuki QuadRunner 160 that actually belongs to my Dad. Since I have a garage, it stays at my house.
The little Runner was fine for the longest time. Riding the trails behind my house was fun. My neighbors each have Polaris 500 Sportmans and with the exception of speed and a few nasty places, I could run with them. Last summer tho, I had an opportunity to buy a 2000 Sportsman 500 with 700 miles on it for $5000. I jumped at it! Now we have two! And unlike snowmobiles, we ride year round in all but the deepest snow. OF course, we stay off maintained trails but there are enough other non-maintained snowmobile trails to have fun on!
Sorry about wanting the Fourtrax...but if i'm not mistaken, the last year they made them was my 99'? They converted to the 350cc Rancher in 00'. it is the same basic design except larger engine and optional ES shifting. They also put in different floor board/foot pegs. But i love my Fourtrax. Find a 98' or 99' in good shape and it'll suit u just fine. laterz
I bought a '01 ski-doo mxz600 sled last year, and this winter in minnesota hasn't been exactly perfect snowmobile weather.
so I had to get me a tide me over a '02 Trail Boss.
sure its only rear wheel drive, but when the snow flys thats what the snowmobile is for.
I have had four wheelers all my life, but right know I only have a 2001 Sportsman 500 and a 2002 Raptor 660. I use the Sportsman for everything, that is the best investment I have ever made. Just this year I bought a new Raptor and love trail riding with it, I think it is so much fun to ride.
