Universal code reading.

I found this in HF, what do you think:
Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
They say has the protocol SAE JI850 PWM.

I dont know if its correct to say "SNAKE OIL" in this case ?.

I'd throw $50 at it to see if it works. But I already have a good scanner so I don't need it. But for someone who doesn't, it might work..
