I was reading the April 2008 road and track this morning as I was waiting to get my hair cut and there was a short segment about the '09 F-150. It stated that the 4.4L turbo diesel would be available in 2010.5 as we all know and it also mentioned that a turbo V-8 gas engine would be coming as well.
Are they confusing this the 6.2L? Could it have been a misprint? Something Ford isn't telling us?
Additionally there was a great article inside the front cover written by Csaba Csere concerning gasoline and diesel fuels and the world market as these fuels are refined and consumed, anyway it was a great read.
Does anyone know when Ford will release power numbers for the '09? This is getting kind of fishy. Power numbers are usually spewed about early and they are about ready to start building the '09s.
There is two ways to think of this, first they are so good that they can wait and once they get released nobody will remember they waited this long. Second is that they are so bad they need the hype of the truck to offset the power #'s. I am hoping that it is the first but I for one am not going to hold my breath.
Either way, they should just buck-up and release them. Seriously, they are what they are so hiding/building false drama won't change anything in the long run.
One thing I do know is that the '09s are going to have 6spd trannys on them. ford has had 4spds forever and 3s before that. They may me actually playing it smart and not releasing that info untill they have it perfected.

Has that been officially released or did some one tell you? Not trying to discredit, I am just wondering if Ford has made an official announcement.
Well I went to a Ride 'N' Drive on the new F-150 on Tuesday and that what they were telling us. It was just a thing where sales people from dealerships go to to learn about the new product. Telling us about all new trim levels and all types of stuff, it was really interesting actually.
I asked about the 4.4L and they said they didn't know anymore about it than the public already knows from the internet.
