Balancer and flywheell help
Need help on balancer and flywheel for a 1979 351w going into 1985 F-150 4x4. Motor is almost finished but do not have any idea on flywheel and balancer for this motor. We are having problems getting information from anyone local. So i am asking for your help. I thank you in advance.

Balancer and flywheell help
My understanding is that whereas the 302's changed their weighting balance between 81-82, 351W did not and have always had the same 28oz counterweight on flywheel/flexplate. As far as a harmonic balancer, I'm not certain. I used a 351C flexplate on my pre-81 302 and it worked fine. I believe you can use a flywheel from a 68-81 302, any 351W flywheel and any 351C flywheel.
