Tranny service

I am needing to do service on my tranny and I have a question. Since there is no drain plug for the torque converter that I can find, do you guys just pull the pan drain and empty as much as you can that way? How much should I expect to empty out that way? I found a local parts plus store that carries the external and pan filters so I will buy from them this time. Anything that I need to be aware of when changing the filters? Do you all change both filters every 30K?

I'm pretty sure he did. Anyway, he helped you find what you needed, right?

I'm sorry for helping? I could have simply ignored your question; one that's been asked hundreds of times, but I didn't. Hopefully I made life just a little bit easier for you and folks who chose to read your post...

BTW, What exactly does the ******** represent in your reply? Please don't try to insinuate stuff (if that's what you were doing) when folks are trying to help.

And on the subject of HELP, using the search function by using qualifiers like +transmission +service +torqshift etc... will bring volumes of information pertinent to your needs.
Blessings-
Brian

Let's try this again
I figure right about now your trying to figure out where the tech folder is.

Greetings and welcome to FTE

There is an unbelievable amount of valuable information here
FTE has literally saved me thousands of $'s

Here's a link to the Tech folder https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...ch-folder.html

Most people seem to change the internal filter every other fluid change, it's just a screen.

When you're ready to change your oil and fuel filters do a search for filter. You'll find that the fuel filters are MUCH cheaper at your local International dealer. And Pep Boys run a 2 for (less than) 1 sale every once in a while for fram oil filters which as of right now are still repackaged OEM filters.

Thanks and once again welcome to FTE

expect about 8 to 9 quarts to come out. This is not an actual flush but is recommended to do every 40k after a flush is performed with external filters at 20k intervals.
