lowering a 94?
i have a 94 f150 reg cab short bed with the gen 1 lightning rims and i wanted to lower it
i was wondering if anyone has a 3/5 drop with the gen 1 lightning rims, it seems like it would hit the inner fender if it was that low with the rims
and if not that then does anyone have the coil springs up front and the hanger/shackles out back?
that was the other setup i have been looking at

I would recommend going to The National Lightning Owners Club ( Lightning owner club), and doing a search in the Gen 1 section.
At the moment my 93 Lightning is stock in the front, and dropped 2" in the rear. But, I have 275/55/17 in the front, and the stock 275/60/17 in the rear. It sits pretty good, but a too much fender gap in the front. I will dropping the front another 3" with DJM drop beams, and the rear another 1" or so with the rear shackles/maybe the snubber leaf spring removeal sometime this summer. You can also put put big washers under the front coil spring perch to raise the front up a little, or too level it side to side.
Oh, I just remembered that the Lightning were 1" low than regular F150 to start with, so you might just fine with stock Gen 1 tire size. As the drop while be like a Lightning with 2"/4" drop. Might get tire rub under bounce/sharp turn on the front sometimes.
I am no expert, just going mostly by what I have read over on the club web site. There are several threads over there with good pics of drops, and tire sizes. Hope this helps you out. There are several Lightning club members in you area, might be able to check there rides out, and see what they got.

hey i just saw ur thread. I have my 94 f150 lowered 3/5. I used DJM's dream beams and flip kit! It goes low so be careful with how low u actually want it. With the 235 tires you get no fender to tire gap but still no rubbing problems. Unless you kit a hole kinda fast your tires wont rub. Again watch how low you acctually want it to be because i didnt and now i cant load it at all cause of how low it rides. I work in construction and im looking to sell the drop kit and go back to stock, thinking of selling the truck so im trying to make money of the aftermarket parts on it.

I have the same lowering kit and it rides great and still has alot of travel.

yea of course, i didnt bootleg anything on this project. I used djm rear shocks but the front uses the stock ones cause the travel distances doesnt change at all. I put in new bump stops, had to grind off the old ones. It does have plenty of travel but at some point (maxed out) it does rub the top of the fender wells.

Im using the stock size tires, im a student so i cant really afford to change wheels yet. I ordered some from summit racing for like 15 bucks. They have free shipping on almost everything. I have two sets, one laying around that ima sell with the kit and the other ima leave on the truck just for the hell of it.
