Motor Oil Again

In researching what oil to use for our boat, it was discovered that it has a flat tappet cam. thus i need to use an oil with the proper amount o fZinc additive (ZDDP). i have looked over several websites and gathered a list of the recommended oil. This made me think about the old PSD, these trucks have flat tappet cams correct? Would we need to run a ZDDP additive oir use a certain oil? Allegedly Rotella is chock full of ZDDP so those using it are fine. i have heard nothing about the chevron delo though, which makes me wonder.......... should i be using a different brand of oil? especially now that its been reformulated for low emissions? which means that, as i understand it that lots of the ZDDP has been taken out? nothing said about shaeffers either, but since its a racing oil like valvoline vr1 i would suspect, from what i have read that it should be fine. problem with shaffers is getting it though, for me anyway.

So stick with reformulated chevron delo? or go back to good ole rotellaT maybe a 5w-40 weight full synthetic? questions questions.

I have been using the Delo 1300 super, Mobil 1. Have been happy with it so far, but thinking of giving the amsoil a whirl.
