Got everything finsihed up today after having a problem getting the 8" bolt out the passenger side I beam. Went to test drive it and hear a rubbing noise. Get out and look and see the passenger front tire is rubbing the plastic inner fender... I backed it up to see what was up and my friend told me when I backed up the front raised up some so I kept going back and forth and the when I go forward the front end drops down more and starts rubbing. It doesn't rub at all in reverse though. I know I need an alignment REALLY bad but I cant drive it to the shop with it rubbing how it is.
Anyone know what would cause the front end to raise and drop going from froward to reverse? I was thinking maybe my front tires are so big they are rubbing. They are 235x75x15s . Also I checked all the bolts to make sure they were all tight and the lower ball joint on the passenger sides nut was loose and I went to tighten it and the ball joint shaft spun. Anyway to get it to stop spinning so I can tighten it?
The driver side is fine and doesn't rub but still needs an alignment bad.
Take the weight off the passenger side, and see if you can get the balljoint taper to stick in the hole so it won't turn. Make sure you get this fixed, or it can wear the hole out and it will never tighten.
With the raising/lowering problem, it's going to be mainly alignment, and possibly a worn tie rod end or steering linkage joint. If you study the tires when you go forward and then back up, they toe in and then toe out correct? If so, then that is why they are rubbing, so make sure you do not have any worn parts in the steering.

ok. Im pretty sure the tie rod end is worn out on the passenger side because I couldn't pop it out the spindle.
Ill try aligning it myself the best I can so I can drive it to the shop and have it done right.

alighnment,
alighnment
alighnment, i went and bought new front tires because i didnt think they would fit they rubbed like crazy, you will be suprised how off it is. when i drove to allighment shop they asked me how i even got it there. so find away to get an alighment then see if the tires will rub
I would NEVER go through all that trouble of installing all of that stuff and not replace every possible link, joint or bushing on the front end.
Putting all of that nice stuff on and then bolting up old, worn out, used up tie rods or drag links is just crazy.
IMO, there is only one way to do things and that's the RIGHT way.
the right way cost to much
Im going to get 2 new tie rods tomorrow.
I got the lower ball joint nut on. Took forever and kept spinning but I finally got it. aligned it the best I could and its better but still rubs over bumps.
I went by an alignment shop(drove my brothers truck) and "bubba" said IF he can get the truck on his lift it would be $200 to do. Is that alot for an alignment? Ive never had one done before. Only reason I went there was because it was the closest and dont want to drive far with it rubbing.

I love those BFG radial TAs you have on there. I would like to get some but they are pretty pricey. I think im going to get some Futura super sport GLSs $50 each from pep boys I think I want the 275/60s out back and 225/60s up front. Looks up reviews on these tires and got alot of great reviews and a few said they had bad traction in rain.. So IDK.

Damn, dude... it snowed here just last week, the same week the buds in the tree in
my front yard actually sprouted baby leaves. And here you are showing me lush
greenery and bright sunshine. Shaddup....

An alignment for that truck should be less than $100, closer to $50. The alignment on my truck costs $150 and takes 2 hours due to the "special" ball joints used on the D50 front end. I think bubba was trying to scare you away or take you for a ride.

ok thanks. I was hoping it would be ALOT cheaper. $50-$100 would be good.

Just remeber it will never be perfect but if they get it in the green. your good to go.
