Need help identifying auto tranny
Picked it up at a city auction for $600. Runs great but needs thorough maintenance including belts, hoses, fluids, filters and some gaskets. Minor bodywork and a paint job.
On the auto tranny, at the back of it near the rear mount that it sits on, is a tag that says the following:
31A-60091-GA or might be 6A Brown
E01A-6D091-KA Red
White
EOTA-6D 6D091-MA
Does this help or is there somewhere else I should check to find the transmission number? I've got a Chiltons on the way from Amazon but proceeded with draining fluids, hose removal, etc. I removed the tranny pan as well as the metal filter and could see numbers and the Ford symbol on the actual inside of the tranny but didn't know if those would be required for identification.
It appears I'll need to replace the oil pan gasket and I've read on this forum in several places that I'll need to remove the engine and tranny mount bolts, jack up the engine and then I can pull the pan. Does this sound right and if so, where should I place the jack - under what part of the engine so I don't mess anything up?
Thanks for your help.

Take the motor mounts loose, and jack the engine up by putting a piece of plwood on the bottom of the pan with a jack underneath. Just make sure the plyood extends out to the vertical part of the pan, which is strong. Once it's up in the air, put blocks in the motor mount area to shim it up. Then you can take the jack out from underneath the pan, and take the pan off.
