One of our customers in Illinois is seeding corn at the rate of 105 acres/hour.
With what????
We seed 40 acres per hour with a 57 foot air drill pulled by 465 horsepower and NH3 mid row applied. Thats going 5.5 mph or so. If I go any faster, field finish is too rough.
With our sprayer I think we are over 100 acres / hour.
He's running a 60 ft planter, pretty quick speed, as he has 2 "vertical tillage" implements running in front of it, a 30 ft and a 50 ft, and it's all they can do to stay ahead of the planter. Basically it removes the coulters from the planter to prep the field first and the planter can run faster.
Our drill in MB is running over 7 mph, with good finish.
