Seeding

There are a few guys just to the south of us that have been going for two or three days already. We had that couple inches of snow here a week or so ago and with our heavier land, its just a bit less than ideal yet. A couple days of harrowing next week then seeds in rows by the end of the week.

Around here there is a few guys getting out in hte fields, but no one has been seeding yet. In some places its still pretty wet out here. This is my first spring out here too, so I have no idea if its normal wet or not either.

In southern Manitoba it seems fairly wet and soft, from pictures I've seen of our new drill working. It has 1000 acres in already. Around here in Ontario, a lot more will be in the ground this week, if the rain holds off.

Up to 2000 acres, I'm told now, at higher speeds than originally anticipated.

One of our customers in Illinois is seeding corn at the rate of 105 acres/hour.

At that rate it would take an afternoon to get my seeding done.
