i just did the overhead console to my 02.
i got it from oldbirds.
George gives full instructions for the install, including the proper part # for the wiring you will need if it is not already in the truck.

That's exactly who I got mine from. The one I put in only had the temp. reading and compass. He gives you everything you need to put it in except for the wire to wire it up. Very good directions.
Didn't the Excursions come with a longer console with multiple flip-down storage pods integrated? If so, has anyone put one of those in their Super Duty?

tHE EXCURSION ONE HAS CONTROLS FOR REAR AIR CONDITIONING.
Just got my overhead console from George, wow did he pack that thing well. Very nice piece. Anyway, I have to admit I am not excited about cutting out the roof lining, any suggestions from the guys that have done it?
Follow his directions. Hold the console up to the headliner and place tape all the way around it. Then position the template inside of your tape marks and tape it down. Then take a step back to make sure the thing will look right, because at the point you cut, there's no turning back. I used a sharp razor knife to cut it. It's really not as hard as it looks. Just follow the template carefully because you would rather cut too small than too big, but you should be fine just take your time. You will be happy that you did this when you are finished.
cut small holes!!!. mark out where you are gonna cut, and cut 2 inches inside of the lines. then trim a little at a time till it fits!!!
i did the mark-out, and cut rite inside the lines on my truck.
when i went to put it all together, i realized i did not get it set perfect, and the hole was rite on the edge of the rear of the console.
the second one i did was on my nephews truck, and i did the small hole deal, and gently trimmed with a pair of sharp scissors to fit.
they both came out good, but my nephews truck is 100 times cleaned job than mine.
