Custom 76 Custom

I own a 76' F250 Custom, and have been thinking about putting a 12V cummins engine in it. The thing is it's pretty unclear about how much that whole project would cost.

Im thinkin engine would be at most 5k
Not clear on what tranny I would go with. I've been to ford cummins, and destroked but I still dont know how much all that would cost any help people?

And is it possible to make a new style crew cab extension for my truck? Or is that pushin it? Its just a standard cab no back seat.

Well yes of course cause Ford did make a supercab ( its a extended cab with a small back seat or 2 jumper seats in the corners) they also made a full crew cab with a big back seat and full 4 doors so all you have to do is find the cab

Think the new crew cab would work with my truck? like the newer body style they started in 99' ish?

I don't know how well using a new cab will work with one of our trucks without a lot of mods. but if you want a 99 or newer looking truck with a diesel won't it just be cheaper to buy one?

Thats what Im here to find out lol But a 76 with a cummins, crew cab, would be a lot cooler than a 99 250 with powerstroke. Know what Im sayin? And I think it would be cheaper just using the truck I have.

LOL I think the diesel swap would be cool with existing truck. Don't mod the body with newer parts. Or if you want to do diesel swap in a larger truck pick up a 70s crewcab or supercab instead of trying to make a new style truck fit. You will definitely have one cool truck swapping in a diesel.

Anyone have any insight to how much the conversion costs? I know it depends on a lot of things but some new ideas maybe I forgot about something. How much better is the 12V Cummins than a 7.3l Powerstroke anyway? I would love to have a 12V cummins 76 with a custom crew cab added, but really I could just get like 99 250 with a PSD... Would just cost a lot more tho.
