My factory muffler rusted through so I put in a 4" turbo back performance system with the AIS intake and cut a hole in the bulkhead in front of the AIS snorkel intake. On winter fuel it looks like I gained 4 mpg freeway driving if I keep the rpm's below 1900(22mpg). Prior to this the best I ever got was 19 mpg on summer fuel. These mods are probably the most cost effective and give the most bang for the buck.

The 6637 is a good filter, and a cover from Pete makes a nice touch. A cold air box isn't required, but if that's what you want they're not that difficult to make.

I have a 6637 with a Pete's cover it works well for me isn't too loud and does a great job. You can also get a AFE 6637 for about a 100 bucks that is rechargeable Bdrummonds has one.

I like the advice men thanks. Looks like the way to go. And the exhaust system sounds like a good idea. Put one on my old ranger years ago and was happy with it. I have to have smog checks here on a dyno so i guess i have to be carefull what i do! Thanks joe
