Just wondering if any problems will arise if I change out my Outlook monitor and replace it with a Dasdaq monitor system. Any input would be appreciated, getting ready to order one.
I never had a commander but I've had the Dashdaq since february and it has been awesome. Incredibly easy to use and super versatile. The Ford enhanced parameters have been out a couple of weeks also.
I don't know how the commander works but the Dashdaq just plugs right into the OBD2 port and its ready to go. Updates are downloaded off the internet and are loaded with a mini USB cable. One of the easiest products to use. Also, the guys at Drewtech are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever worked with. I bought it before the enhanced parameters came out and they let me know as soon as they were out, always answered emails within a day, and always called me back if I was having trouble to make sure they cleared up the problem.
Are you looking for just a Dashdaq or the new tuner from Spartan?
Thanks Momorris, great info. I am wanting to switch out the Bullydog Outlook monitor, and go with the Dasdaq. Possibly a tuner from Spartan in the future also. I am assuming I would lose the shift on the fly with out the Outlook monitor ???? I am going to check out Drewtech right away.
The dashdaq is just gauges, I doesn't do any tuning. However, Matt's new tuner is the dashdaq with new new software, but i dont think it is shift on the fly either, due to the nature of the tuning. You would save money in the longrun if you waited for the new spartan tuner IMO.
Thanks Momorris, I sent an e-mail to Drewtech on the chances of a piggyback to maintain the switch on the fly. I am like a kid with these new toys. I just can't wait....lolol
They have multiple screen setups. The screen I usually run has seven gauges (one analog - boost, and six digital - ECT, EOT, Tranny Temp, Timing, ICP, and calculated torque at the the flywheel) but there are many other setups. It's touch screen and very user friendly. The next screen has 12 I think, I might have some screenshots in my gallery, if not let me know and I will load some. The drewtech website might have some screenshots as well. You can also add sensors to just about anything and have them displayed on the dashdaq. I heard that you can view up to 32 paramters at one time, but I have not found that screen on unit.
Ooooh, thats it. I looked over all the things it is adaptable with and I am sold. Whether I lose the switch on the fly or not, I think it's worth it. Also upgradeable down the pipe as well. Looks like a nice unit. Did you dash mount yours or on the window ??
It is a really strong suction cup the sticks to the windshield. The unit is screwed to that and I ran the cable down the weather stripping and over to the OBD2 port. Very simple and clean.
If you haven't yet, there is a forum on the Drewtech site. It is also very helpful.
