Chevy 454: waiting for a truck (Mazda?Nissan?)
well, you could use a production lightning lower and upper intake(this would be best for performance) and painless wiring makes a complete harness for the fuel injectors, all the sensors, etc.. and you could use just about any computer you wanted, but i would suggest if you were to go with the painless kit to use a mustang computer. good luck and i hope this helps. oh, and if you dont wanna go with that style, holley makes a fuel injection setup that is a 4 barrel throttle body injection type. that way you can use a 4 barrel intake like an edelbrock, weiand, anything that a carb would fit on. barry grant makes one like this too, but it is hella expensive. good luck,
mike
If your considering switching a carbed motor to EFI, Holley makes a 'Four Barrel' TB injection system that installs on a four barrel intake inplace of a carb. I have no idea how much but you can look it over on their website. They also make MPI systems I believe.
Your best bet would be to either find a truck '88 or new with a 351W and take all the wiring harness sensors and computer out. Or if you really want to go with it find a '89 or new Mustang and get the computer, harnesses, and sensors to do the swap. Make sure if you go from the Mustang that its a Mass Air Flow setup. That will allow you to change cams and get better response from the computer. The Mass Air setup is much more efficient especially if you want to do a Lightning swap. You might was well add on a Edelbrock Performer Package rather then the Lightning. I think its better. Good Luck
