Chris,
You may want to keep your EBPV for another reason other than to annoy your neighbors. If you tow and don't have an exhaust brake you can get a DP Decel tune that utilizes your EBPV for engine braking as well as locks up the TC. I just talked to Jody about it this week. I'm getting it put on the position right next to 60T.

New here and a first time diesel owner. Is that why the truck is louder till it warms up?

When the valve closes your truck idles up and makes that hissing sound. the valve is putting a load on the engine which causes it to warm up faster+ make that noise.

Yea Ive heard about that, not sure if Im sold on it yet, Id rather get a real exaust brake if Im towing that heavy of a load. I dont tow often so Its not really worth it for me.
Ron is a great guy, I'm still very happy with my rebuilt van turbo. He is by far the best and most reasonably priced turbo builder/rebuilder that I have found. I'm happy to have introduced him into our FTE circle a few years ago. I just couldn't convince him to become a vendor here, he said he was busy enough. I can see why, word of mouth can be a powerful thing! I haven't heard a single bad experience from anyone that I recommended to him.
