well, I finally got it fixed, aka the end of my tranny woes
Ok, short story:
bought truck in sept 3 weeks later tranny starts slipping and goes out
pulled codes, rebuilt valve body, swapped solenoids, tested, read, tinkered and such. Codes pointed to TCC stuck (P0741 I think).
Pulled tranny, did rebuild, put it back in.
Still having a problem with slipping, shuddering and such
Swapped in different shift solenoids, same result
Swapped in different TCC and EPC solenoids, same result (keep in mind this step)
Pulled codes again, p0734 (TCC solenoid circuit failure during on-board diagnostic TCC solenoid circuit fails to provide voltage drop across solenoid.)
This is where I started doing electrical testing into the wiring and computer systems, figure there is no way that I have 2 bad TCC solenoids. Been WAY down into the wiring. Today I pulled the pan to check the inside wiring of the tranny and what do I find? DAMN TCC SOLENOID WAS UNPLUGGED. I guess I didnt put it back on when I changed them out.
Been fighting this thing for 6 weeks now because of doing something wrong.... grr. BUT I drove it for about 25 miles today and even did a little off road exploring. Next step is to replace all the stuff that I took apart for the testing, fix the evaporator leak, track down the missing radio power, and fix the 4wd shift motor. Sounds like a lot, but after working on this damn tranny for the last 6 months (and making payments for that time) this is all quick and easy stuff.
LET THE PARTY BEGIN!
special thanks to rockledge, pawpaw, and fordboy!
