2001 ford e150 conversion van

2001 ford e150 conversion van
I am a female, so what do I know about engines. I feel as if I am being taken. The van has 78,000 miles and it hestiates at 50 mph. Mechanic says it needs a new engine #1 cylinders is 20 psi. He says I need a $4500 engine. HELP. plugs, wires, cables are OK.

Sorry to hear about your problems. You will have better luck getting an answer or some assistance if you post your questions in one of the tech forums. At the top of this page you will see a tab labeled "Forums". Click on that and the "List" to see the tech forums.
Based upon the year of your van and the motor, you should be able to find a thread to post your questions.
