Oh 62mm huh well if that's twice as big as the stockers and works well with 230s wouldn't 72mm be perfect for even bigger injectors? And another question... what does the housing size refer to? Just the overall diameter of the turbo? Is that the exhaust or compressor housing? And FARM69 I am mostly just looking for a sweet daily driver that can haul a load every now and then and do double duty as a drag truck once in a while.

I don't know all the technical stuff, but the housing is basically a "tunnel" that directs the exhaust gases over and through the blades of the turbine. So if you get a turbo that has a huge housing its going to take longer for it to spool.

Hope that makes sense...

I'd look at the h2e of d66.

Very nice vids and truck luke!
As for housing size, i do believe that the number you are talking about is the Exhaust Wheel radius or diameter... not sure, and
i could be wrong...

Housing = The "snail-shaped" enclosures inside of which the turbine and compressor wheels spin. Like A/R, housing shape and size have a tremendous effect on the turbocharger's output, as well as its ability to dissipate heat. A turbo with a larger housing can produce higher boost, and therefore higher horsepower, but is generally slower to spool. A turbo with a smaller housing spools quicker but cannot make high levels of boost.

Compressor wheel = The finned wheel on the intake side of the turbocharger that is driven by the exhaust-side turbine. It sucks fresh air through the center inlet, compresses it, and sends it to the combustion chambers. So it basically fits inside the "snail" housing. Usually measured in cm.

Hope this clears things up.

OK well I didn't get on it quite right away but the compressor housing is about 28-29cm across while the exhaust is about 23-24cm.

That sounds like a monster. How did you measure for the housing? I'm not sure what the correct way is.

Ya I'm not quite sure how it's supposed to be done either so I just measured across the most circular part of the housing and used that number.

Nope I have no idea cuz the guy that it's from sold his property. On the proprety was a semi trailer and inside are a bunch of truck parts one of which is the giant turbo. I tried looking for brand name markings but the closest thing I could find was te number RF07 on it, other than that there is no other markings... well there are a lot of numbers but that doesn't help me.

There is nothing like Holset or Garett on the turbine or compressor housing anywhere?

No that's the first thing I looked for but there is nothing. I think I will just have to go ono_55s route and take it to a shop or two so they can have a look at it. I would imagine SOMEONE would know what it is.
