Just wondering what would be a real world price to sell my Ex at? It's an 04 Eddie Bauer, 6.0, 4x4, DVD, 2007 billet grill, with 54k miles. Air bags in rear and new Rancho xl shocks....... It's in mint condition! Kelley Blue Book has it at $26,080? I want to sell it quick but don't want to give it away! Any ideas? Anyone remotely interested?
Sorry, but Kelley Blue Book and NADA don't mean diddly squat now with diesel fuel and gas costing so much now. Most dealers are outright refusing to accept Excursions (or many other SUVs) as a trade-in even. If they do allow you to trade it in, you might get 50% of what it's worth. And only then if they can find a wholesale buyer willing to take it off their lot the next day.
Fuel prices have totally ruined the value of Excursions.
Thank God I don't have to drive mine but 5 miles a week if I don't want to. And that 5 miles will be to keep the battery charged and the fluids circulating. Never in my life did I imagine I would ever live long enough to see gas and diesel costing as much as it does now. It's not so much affording the fuel, it's the feeling of being brutalized every time you fill it up, and there's nobody around to prosecute the suspect each time.
Is this opinion or a fact? I see them from $36k down to $23k which is a huge swing for Diesel Excursions....... %50 less for a diesel or V-10? I could see that for the thirsty V-10 for sure!! The V-10's seem to be going for super cheap these days!!
I know I am a newbie here with the Excursions, but if they are anything like my SHO's (and I think they are), they are only worth something to someone who's looking for one, or wants one.
Just my opinion of course. Each situation is different. Hell, I just bought mine one month ago Friday.

You're looking at asking prices, not sale prices. Watch them to see how long they sit at those prices.
Thirsty is a relative term. Looks like the 6.0 and V10 are pretty close for cost per mile at this point.

As I was waiting for my wife to finish dinner last night, I got a call from the stealership which had serviced my Ex earlier this year. The lady inquired whether or not I still had it, how many miles were on it, and stated they wanted very much to buy the Ex!! Now, I am certain the only way they wanted to buy my Ex was to get me to buy a new (or newer) vehicle, and lock me into some form of financing. I don't have any vehicle payments. I paid cash for my Ex in November ($16,500 and I still have a great feeling over that deal!!) and I don't want any payments. But I was surprised they called, and surprised that dealers in your area aren't interested in them as trade-in!!

Well, of course. They figured gas prices had you bent over and ready to be raped. They wanted to sell you a new $35,000 vehicle and give you 50% of what your Excursion was worth 3 months ago.
All true people aren't buy large vehicles anymore and GM has stopped or slowed down production but people are trading in for something smaller these days so it will be hard to sell it for what you want. I would keep it and just purchase a smaller vehicle if that's your intention. I'm disabled and home all day, I only leave home 2-3 time a month to go to the store. Good Luck!
I wouldn't believe what a used car salesman had to say if he was my relative. They always try to overdramatize the situation to their benefit. There is and will continue to be a market for Excursions as they fill a need.
Personally, I would look at Excursions for sell on Ebay and watch four or five go through the sales process and see what they sold for. I've bought two vehicles from Ebay and developed a value based on a couple of months of data.

This is exactly how I am shopping for an x for the wife. Some units go through again and again, the market is getting softer and the v10 is getting very cheap. We are moving to the remote north and I want to run the same motor in both our rides and have a extra motor that can be swapped out to work on, so wife gets a 03 6.0L motor.
