vacuum curves help!
Hey folks, Ive got a 351w CAsting on block is c90e, I think the block is a 69 but it has the newer heads, square water jackets. I put in a rebuilt duraspark dist. The rebuilder screwed the vacuum advance adjustment all the way in. Took me forever to figure out why the engine spark knocked no matter where I set the base timing.I got it to where it is drivable but I don't think it is right. Don't know where to set base timing either, Ive got it a 6 btdc now. Is that o.k? What is the easiest way to set the vacuum advance curve. I don't have an adjustable timing light only a cheapo. Any help would be appreciated. It is in a 71 f100 3sp. man. ederbrock performer intake, holly 600. Stock rebuilt engine. Thanks.
